Finally, the long awaited three years of middle school has been complete! But you come to learn that what you were so eager and excited to get to, is now what you’re most nervous about. How should one adapt around new people, leaving old friends, and making new ones. Should someone change who they are and how they dress because of the people around them?

Let’s just start with the final day of middle school! The bus roars with excitement of all fellow classmates who can’t wait for summer to finally come, and to officially become freshman. Going through the day; let’s just say the teacher didn’t care much about what we did. Camera flashes being thrown left and write, and people have ink across themselves and their hands from signing so many yearbooks! (In some cases, your year book is your clothes, and/or yourself, we live in a very strange time these days) (; You hear the afternoon announcements come on, and everyone starts to scream and holler. Then the principal comes on and announces that 8th grade is dismissed first. You walk out of the building to see a mod of sobbing 8th graders. Most people would think why the tears. Well 8th grade is the year where kids go to different schools, and as my social studies teacher says, we are now all competing. Everything we do is being judged, and you can’t let other people take advantage of you. You can’t help but get upset and maybe teary-eyed over the sad faces of those you truly care about. Teachers are hollering nonstop for us to get to our buses, but for the time being, we ignore them, run around, and give out as many hugs as humanly possible.

When you get home, and have some time to yourself, you realize that things are about to change from here on out. You really have to focus on what you want, and achieve what you believe in. Anything is possible when you set your mind to it. My best advice is to find people in high school who accept you for who you truely are, because those are the ones who will be there for you through all four years awaiting you life ahead. Through the pain and the tears, and the long nights of homework to await us in our future, is all worth it when we settle into the real world. But hey, summer 2009 just started, so I plan to live this party to its fullest, and get ready for whatever high school has to throw at me. I am physically and mentally prepared for everything, what about you?! (:
