This Tuesday, the Olympic torch will make an appearance in Port Hardy, BC as it makes its way to Vancouver for the 2010 Olympics on February 12th. The torch began its 106 day journey on October 30th, 2009 from Victoria, BC. I happened to be there that day! Here is a short video of some of the pictures that I took:
Here are some fun facts about the torch relay:
I am VERY excited that my town gets to be a small part of Olympic history. My community has a big celebration planned on February 2nd. The torch will arrive around 3:45 pm and then it will journey around the town until it finally arrives at the Port Hardy Civic Centre. At the Civic Centre, the Olympic cauldron will be lit and there will be entertainment. After the show there will be fireworks!! I will be posting pictures of this historic day on my blog Wednesday!
