Let us not become weary in doing
good, for at the proper time we will

Choose Wisely

By Pat

Have you ever really thought about how your attitude toward God and your faith-walk affect those around you? I used to think my faith was a personal thing, something to hold close to myself and guard fervently. But through the years, as I have grown in my walk with the Lord, I have come to realize that nothing could be further from the truth.

Looking For God...Again!

By Pat

Okay, I admit it. I'm struggling again. Struggling with finances which is forcing me to struggle with decisions, among a few other issues, and therefore struggling with my faith. I know I'm not alone; we all have our moments, our days, even weeks and months, don't we? After all, God never promised a trouble-free life for any of us.

Looking back through the Bible, we recall David, Paul, Peter, just to name a few. Even Jesus! They all had their problems. In fact, thinking about the problems they faced make mine seem kind of, well, petty I suppose. And yet, I still struggle. Am I a fair-weather Christian, relying on everything to go my way in order for my faith to be strong? Why can't I hear God? What am I doing wrong? Where is that window God's supposed to open for me when it appears there is a door fixing to slam shut?

Weeding The Flower Beds

By Pat

A few weeks ago, I decided to give my flower beds a much needed and long overdue weeding. I dread it. I hate it. But... I have to do it, so after much procrastinating, I began the task.

As I began working, I said a prayer, and asked the Lord to just let me feel His presence, hear a word from Him. I didn't ask for anything in particular, but just to have a sense of the Holy Spirit as I worked in the flower bed.

The first thing I started with are the weeds I hate the most. I have no idea what kind they are, though I'm sure they have a name, but if you're a gardener you'll know what I mean... they are prickly and they get very big and will, in fact, take over the flower bed if they're not kept up with. You can't pull them out. They have to be dug, for the stickers on the leaves hurt like the dickens.

Loving God with All Your Mind: Intellectual Rigor and Biblical Faithfulness

By Jason, M.Ed., M.A.R., Headmaster

Harvard and Yale were both founded with the primary mission of training faithful pastors for ministry. The founders of these schools knew that men needed the highest quality education in order to properly handle God’s Word and apply it to the cultural context of their day. They expected their students to be fluent in Hebrew, Greek and Latin and also to be well versed in the intellectual and philosophical ideas of the day, so they could engage them intelligently and Biblically.

One of the first presidents of Princeton University was Jonathan Edwards, a Yale graduate, who has been called by some the greatest thinker in American history. Edwards is also known as the leading theologian and one of the central preachers of the Great Awakening. As recently as the early 1900’s, Princeton was a leading center of Biblically faithful scholarship, having trained some of the best theologians and pastors in American history.

One Word At A Time: Joy

By MAD21

Have you ever met someone who just lights up a room? Sometimes without saying a word they make things seem better and brighter.

When I was working in a kindergarten classroom about eight years ago, I had a student who was just that. Rays of sunshine walking in the door. She started attending the school mid-year. I remember the very first moment she walked into the room. There was just something different about her. She had a smile and attitude that would just melt away any negative feelings you may have had before she got there. Each morning she would walk in the classroom with the beautiful grin God gave her as if to say, "I'm here people, how can we have an awesome day?"
