Something to Think About
Go... Make a Difference

Let us not become weary in doing
good, for at the proper time we will
reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Nibbledish

By MAD21

I found another really good source for recipes. Nibbledish not only has some really good recipes for just about everything, they have amazing pictures to go along with all of them (which for me is really important!). In addition, there is a place where people comment on the recipe, which I think is nice. You can read comments from people who have actually tried it and give their opinion on it, or give ideas to make it even better.

The Importance of Faithfulness

By Jason, M.Ed., M.A.R., Headmaster

The Life God Treasures and Blesses

Yesterday, I was reading through I Chronicles 5. I started a new plan to read through the Bible in a year this year, and this plan has four tracks of reading each day. One of the tracks begins in 1 Chronicles. I think it’s wise of this plan to start you reading 1 Chronicles at the beginning of the year, when your resolve is fresh and strong. If you’ve read 1 Chronicles before, you will understand that this is where many plans to read through the whole Bible go off the tracks.

What Are Your Special Gifts?

By Pat

How Can You Use Your Gifts To Help Others?

James 4:17 tells us "anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins." That is, to me, a very frightening statement--one I need to not just ponder from time to time, but commit to memory and be spurred into action! It's very easy to fall into the wrong mindset, thinking of all the things I DON'T do wrong, the sins I don't commit. I try very hard every day to obey God's commands of not lying, stealing, coveting. Of treating my neighbor as myself. And then I pat myself on the back for being a good girl! But the Bible clearly states that more is required of us. God has given each of us our own unique, individual personalities, gifts and talents which are to be used to further His kingdom here. Therefore, I must make it my priority to seek God's guidance in using these gifts in the manner in which He intended, so that someday I will hear the words I so long to hear..."Well done, good and faithful servant!"

Back To Real Life

By Lara

I got home from Alaska on Tuesday morning. Aside from a slight nap on the plane from Seattle to Newark, I was awake for 35 hours. I don't plan to do that again any time soon. The Peach Perfection Jamba Juice I purchased in New Jersey went a long way towards curing my hunger and bad attitude, but there are some negative aspects of travel for which there is no cure.

A Boy Who Overcame Terrifying Events And Became A Mentor

In a previous article, I wrote about one of my favorite ministries, Samaritan's Purse. They recently posted a great article about a 27-year-old boy named Sarko who overcame terrifying events in his life that left him handicapped an orphaned. In "Turning Brokenness Into Blessing" they share:

"The morning of March 16, 1988, started out like any other for young Sarko. He climbed aboard the bus for the ride to school, eager to meet up with friends from his kindergarten class. Several minutes later, there was a massive explosion and screaming. The bus with 30 children aboard had been hit by a missile...he found out he was the only child in the bus who had survived....[and] All of Sarko’s immediate family was dead. His parents and 10 brothers and sisters had been killed in poisonous gas attacks launched on Halabja by Saddam’s military forces on the same day as the bus bombing..."
