And It Begins...

There is nothing that I love more than a good story. I like hearing them, I like reading them, and I especially like telling them. I have, on more than one occasion, participated in a distasteful outing or event simply because I could weave it into an amusing story.
In order to enhance my storytelling capabilities, I began collecting experiences. I charmed my way into a HMMWV driving course. I gave out favors at my office for bubblewrap appreciation day. I accidentally crashed a funeral in Italy. With each new adventure came the desire for more adventures. I would tell people about my abstract future plans until they became known in my circle of friends as, "The List."
In an attempt to compile a physical list of desired future experiences, my friend Beth came up with a spectacular idea. Since we both turn 30 in 2009, we came up with a list of 30 items that we will accomplish together by the end of the year. We plan to document these experiences and create scrapbooks to commemorate the, "Year of the Birthday."
This is the list:
1. Plant a letterbox.
2. Go to the International Spy Museum.
3. Leave Random Gifts on Doorsteps.
4. Make Pretzels.
5. Go to the Beach in Winter.
6. Visit Narnia Exhibit at Franklin Institute.
7. Go to Ice Hockey Game.
8. Go to Ireland.
9. Learn to Belly Dance.
10. See Some Ridiculously Exciting Fireworks.
11. Go to Boston in the Fall.
12. Paint Daisies on a Big Red Rubber Ball.
13. Go gambling in Atlantic City.
14. Ride a Riverboat.
15. Go to a Cave.
16. Try to Meet Someone Famous.
17. Try to Get Something Published.
18. Build Something Together.
19. Have a LOTR Marathon.
20. Go to a Horse Race.
21. Go to Geppe's Entertainment Museum.
22. Dress up to Eat at a Fast Food Restaurant.
23. Have High Tea with Scones.
24. Go on a Hot Air Balloon Ride.
25. Have a Formal Portrait Taken.
26. Have "Pig, Horse, Cow" T-shirts made.
27. Get a Massage.
28. Have a Progressive Dinner.
29. Send a Singing Telegram.
30. Have an International Dinner Evening/Party."
