Fingerprint Friday: Our Little Bees
By MAD21
The website Pampering You (Pamperingbeki) has a really great weekly post it does every Friday called "Fingerprint Friday." This is such a wonderful idea, I couldn't wait to participate. Here is what she says it's all about:
There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
I can see the fingerprints of god
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of god
And I know its true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of godSo look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them?
I don't know about you, but I see God's fingerprints all over everywhere. He tells us He's in plain site, but sadly I think a lot of people miss seeing Him. I find so much joy and blessing in the little things in life. I have two fabulous daughters and a wonderful husband. Together, we go looking for them...
When my oldest, now almost six, was born, a really good friend of mine gave us a Winnie the Pooh toy that had a pillow with a music box in it. It sang one of Pooh's wonderful songs called, "Lullabees." It has been one of our most priceless treasures. Without Pooh's Lullabees, we would have had many sleepless nights.
Every night when going to bed, we'd talk, pray, sing, and then listen to Lullabees and end our time with 'thumb kisses' (basically just touching each other's thumbs together). At some point, the thumb kisses turned into finger kisses. Eventually, the fingers became,"Bees."
When my youngest daughter was born, my oldest willingly gave her new little sister Pooh and his Lullabees to help her sleep. But I continued to sing it to her without Pooh every night during our routine. And along with the song, were our "Bees." Over time, as my daughter matured, the Bees began singing with us, and then dancing, and then they started wearing colors, then patterns, then full blown outfits (all pretend, of course). Not long ago, she announced that she now has a girl and boy Bee. (To see where it goes from here should be interesting...)
Both of my daughters use their Bees for stories and play all the time. The Bees join us while playing with toys, eating meals, driving along in the car. The Bees go with us everywhere now, and do everything we do. And thanks to my youngest's own creativity, they all have voices and are a family.
The whole way that the Bees have transformed over time has been a real blessing. Both because it's interesting to see how they grow with my girls, but they are a lot of fun and give endless entertainment (which comes in handy when you are stuck in an exam room at the doctors office for two and a half hours waiting for the doctor... But that's a story for another day...)
Just tonight, while putting my oldest to bed, she told me that her boy Bee was naked. I said, "Naked?" She said, "Ya, he's taking a bath." She said, "The girl Bee is wearing Belle's dress. I looove that dress." Mine was boring, I guess. She was just blue, pink, purple, and yellow...
How can this kind of conversation be anything but a blessing? ...a fingerprint from God.

Adorable!!! So glad you did Beki's carnival! Are you hooked on carnivals yet?
During our nightly ritual, I tell my daughter not to dream of bees. She had a bee nightmare one night, but none since adding that little line. Maybe we should have used the Pooh song... :o)
Thanks, Wendy. Ya, I've enjoyed reading the ones other people write for a long time. I'm just hoping now that I'll remember all of those that I wanted to write!!
Oh that is so precious!! I'm so glad you joined in.
Thanks for the great idea, Beki. I love it. I think it's a great way to share all the blessing of God in our lives. Can't wait to write more, and read what others post as well.
