Allow me to wander from my usual musings in order to provide a brief commercial message for a coffee shop in Constant Friendship. This may seem a little strange but allow me some leeway on this one. Those that know me know my one major vice is a good White Chocolate Mocha. I really do not like coffee but I do have one of these pretty much on a daily basis. Back in the early 2000's a shop appeared in Constant Friendship called Huckleberry's. It was my place of choice and began my addiction. After awhile it went out of business and a new Huckleberry's appeared. This version lasted for much longer and then closed down this past January. I was planning on doing a night of Compassion there with music and a possible presentation. However, it just never happened. In July of this year, a new coffee shop opened and I want to encourage you all to give it a shot..... (no pun intended). Let me explain why....
Roger's Coffee & Tea- is a family owned business that is operated by Raenette Rogers and her husband. They are great Christian folk. Their coffee is their own roasted blend and is excellent. I met Raenette in June as they were getting their shop ready. She happened to be out front and I approached her and asked her about her shop. I also explained that perhaps down the road I could talk to her about putting out some brochures at the shop. She replied that it possibly could be something we could look at after they opened....so lets move ahead a month.....they have opened. I again asked about placing some brochures. She asked me for some information on Compassion. I readily dropped off some brochures, pamphlets, etc about their ministries..... Guess what......
They sponsored a little girl from Bolovia!!!! In fact, this is totally awesome. Their coffee is Fair Trade. If you do not know why this is important, read this. Their coffee comes from Bolivia so the tie in to their sponsored child is a "God Thing." In addition, they have granted me space to place brochures and child packets.
They actually hope to sponsor more children as their business grows. In fact as you buy products there you are supporting both Fair Trade and Compassion. How about that for Making a Difference!!!!!
Anyway they are located in the Constant Friendship shopping center and their grand opening weekend is September 18-20th. I encourage you to stop in and give them a try. It is a great place to meet for a bible study or for some fellowship. Take a moment and speak to Raenette. Ask her about her vision and calling. She is trying to Make a Difference.

That connection is really cool and definitely a God thing! Sure more good will come of it, yet!
