Keep Gripping The Steering Wheel
"I realize my kids drift toward bad attitudes, toward discontentment, toward selfishness.
And being the little mirrors they are, so do I. Maybe even more than they do. Because as an adult, there is just so much more to be discontent, frustrated and self-absorbed about.
I drift toward a snotty attitude toward the lady who hits me at Disneyland with her purse because she’s messing with her phone.
I drift toward a selfishness at the end of the day when my husband needs me to take care of the kids alone because he has to work late.
I drift toward frustration when I think about all the things that bug me about ________ or _________.
But I don’t want to let myself drift. I want to grip the steering wheel, focus on the end of the road and will myself, make myself, and allow God to guide me and carry me to drive the straight line.
