Life Is Funny: Not-So-Welcome Surprises

BY MAD21

Imagine yourself in your garage, looking for something that rolled under a cabinet, only to find more than what you are looking for. You think to yourself, "What is that?" And then, uuuhh-it moves...

What is worse than finding this:

Is finding THIS...

No worries. We got him out unscathed (him and US). He is now residing in the forest across the street... I hope he stays there...

And... at least it was two feet smaller than the one I found a few weeks ago in our front yard...

My friend and fellow blogger Wendy at Weight..What? has a fun carnival at her blog called "Life is Funny." Every Monday we talk about something in life that we find funny. Be sure to go visit her blog to read her post along with links to other blogs who are participating.

I can't really tell in the picture, but it doesn't look like it had a rattler, so at least there is that!

My neighbor used to cut his grass with a spear in one hand in order to take care of the pigmy rattlesnakes he might run across. It was always fun to watch him mow from the safety of my own home... Also taught me to keep my own grass cut SHORT!

Jason- HAHA! You want a list?

Dusty- It's was just a black snake. Harmless unless you come after them. He lunged at us a few times as we used a push broom to 'encourage' him off our property.

I work outside a lot, I've never come across a snake in my own yard. I'm a little nervous now that I've seen TWO in the last month. Believe me, I'm walking a little more alert as I tromp though our flowerbeds and yard. Eek.

I'm with Jason. Snakes just aren't funny. Unless you find fear funny. And there you have it. Ick.
