Works For Me Wednesday: Charts

By MAD21

For this weeks Works For Me Wednesday, I want to talk about charts. Ya-ya, I know. Every time you are having issues with your kids repeating undesirable behaviors, someone, somewhere says, "Well, make a chart...give them stickers." I have to say, I've worked with kids for a long time, and ...I really don't like doing them. That being said, I hate to admit, they usually work. I have my own kids now, and have pretty much avoided using charts until the last few months. I got really tired of 'going down the list' of all the things they were supposed to do everyday... everyday.

In our house, we have two charts. One is the "Responsibility Chart." This one is for both of our girls and it includes both the morning and evening routines. The other chart is the "Potty Chart" and this one is for our youngest daughter who is still having some issues with not wanting to use the toilet all the time.

Fingerprint Friday: Our Little Bees

By MAD21

The website Pampering You (Pamperingbeki) has a really great weekly post it does every Friday called "Fingerprint Friday." This is such a wonderful idea, I couldn't wait to participate. Here is what she says it's all about:

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
I can see the fingerprints of god
          When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of god
          And I know its true
          You're a masterpiece
          That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of god

So look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them?

I don't know about you, but I see God's fingerprints all over everywhere. He tells us He's in plain site, but sadly I think a lot of people miss seeing Him. I find so much joy and blessing in the little things in life. I have two fabulous daughters and a wonderful husband. Together, we go looking for them...

Life Is Funny: Mixing Up Words

By MAD21

My friend and fellow blogger Wendy at Weight..What? talked me into participating in her blog carnival called "Life is Funny." Every Monday we talk about something in life that we find funny. So. Here we go...

Our oldest daughter has been talking about going to Kindergarten for what seems like forever. So when the time finally came for her to go, to say she was excited is an understatement.

As the day got closer, I could tell she was starting to get more apprehensive because she kept asking me about what Kindergarten would be like. At this point I should explain that my daughter has been going to part-time preschool for two years and LOVES school. She loves everything about it: friends; teachers; play; hearing stories and reading them; learning; and HOMEWORK (Yes, I got that in writing!)
