Let us not become weary in doing
good, for at the proper time we will
reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Do You Pray First?

By Heather (Balance with Purpose)

I’ve been thinking about greed lately and how many decisions we base on our desire for money or our fear of letting it go. Being raised in a country where materialism is engrained in us from birth, I struggle with keeping faith at the forefront of my financial decision making.

In this age of high unemployment and rising costs of living, we are faced with financial decisions every single day. How many of those decisions do you take to prayer? Do you pray about the groceries you need to purchase? Do you pray about a large home repair like a leaky roof? What about the Christmas presents you hope to buy this month?

Do you pray about the tiny purchases and expenses, or do you save praying to God for the really big ones.

What about job changes? Do you let faith and prayer lead you to the right decision, or do you base that decision solely on income you think you need?

World Aids Day

By Chuck (Sharing Compassion)

Today is December 1st...a day set aside by the Global Community to mark awareness of Aids. A time to reflect and perhaps to Make a Difference. I challenge you to just not think about this today but perhaps make the month of December a period of introspection and reflection. Compassion has several great ways to get involved. There is a prayer guide, a "walk a mile" challenge, and a call for donations. You can get involved as an individual or as a group. I challenge you to do something....even if you decide just to walk that mile and pray you will be Making a Difference. If you do please leave a comment and lets see what happens. Blessings!

One Word At A Time: Grief

The topic for our bi-weekly post on One Word At A Time is: Grief. It's amazing how a single word like this can bring on such strong emotions. Deep sadness, anger, denial, emptiness and loss, to name a few. Most people couple grieving with the loss of a loved one, and I have to admit, when I first found out this was our word to write about this week, it was the first thing I thought of. But as I began to ponder on this idea of grief, I realized that the loss of someone I've loved isn't the only time I've experienced these emotions.

Life Is Funny: I Don't Know Where She Gets It...

By MAD21

As you all know, when you bring family and friends together all kinds of things can happen. I guess you could say my job is comic relief considering it seems I'm always (unintentionally most of the time) finding something to say or do that makes people laugh... I'd like to say with me, not at me, but you know how that goes.

Fingerprint Friday: Second Families

By MAD21

During this week for being thankful, there were several opportunities to see God's fingerprints. Probably the most important one for me is the one that appears as family and friends. I am so blessed to have married into such a wonderful group of people. It's been over nine years, and they still haven't kicked me out! That should say something about their character (either crazy or just very accepting of terribly imperfect people).

Thank you God, for loving me through others. And for using me to show your love for them.

Fellow blogger Beki at Pampering You has a really great weekly post she does every Friday called "Fingerprint Friday." We are to look around and see where we can see God's fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Anywhere? Go find out where Beki saw God this week, and be sure to check out the other bloggers who linked their stories as well.
