Works For Me Wednesday: Kitchen Love

By Alan

While we often talk about about food in terms of love. We love chocolate, and we love those beautiful plates of ours. Many courtships got started with dinner and a movie, and romantic meals fixed for each other. Families bond over the dinner table, and in the kitchen while making meals.

But, does the love extend to everything in the kitchen? What about the appliances? We expect them to work, but we don't always give them the attention or the care necessary for them to work at their best, or for the longest. Where's the love?

There have been some recent web articles that outline good rules of thumb for how to take care of major appliances:

Lengthen the Life of Your Dishwasher - At one of our favorite sites for do-it-yourselfers, DIY Life

Refrigerator Seal Maintenance - One of the most common failures in the fridge is the door seal, so don't pay huge money for a tiny part failure.

10 Kitchen-Cleaning Tricks - Weekly and Monthly cleaning tips to keep various appliances squeaky clean.

HomeTips on Appliances - A whole collection of articles on different appliances in the kitchen for repairing, cleaning, or selecting appliances.

It's not about love. It's about attention. It's about care.

Every Wednesday, fellow blogger Kristen at We are THAT Family posts clever ideas for getting things done. She calls it, "Works For Me Wednesday" or WFMW. Be sure to go visit her blog to read her post along with links to other blogs who are participating.

Good advice! It's tough to love appliances sometimes :)

Great suggestions. Some of them I've never heard of, but works for me!
