Let us not become weary in doing
good, for at the proper time we will
reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Freedom Is In The Surrender

"We are taught that freedom is going and doing where we want, when we want, and so on. This, sadly, conflicts with my living a completely surrendered life to Jesus. I end up trying to dance with Daddy and still trying to lead. My toes bear the price, but if I don’t recognize what’s happening I miss the lesson.

The freedom is in the surrender. The joy is not in me getting my way, trying to pull God along, but in letting go and allowing Him to scoop me up in His arms and listen to the song of love He sings."

- An excerpt from So You Think You Can Dance by Jason on his blog Connecting to Impact

This is one I need to study some more. I'm gonna keep it marked "unread" in my reader until I absorb it fully, and get time to visit Jason's whole post.

Still getting my daily blog vitamins ...

If I'm allowed a second comment, here's what I posted on Jason's site:

I'm a dancer in my heart from way back. I've been wanting to dance in worship for 20 years now and am getting my chance this fall.

For the first time, my dance is choreographed rather than strictly free form. It's a lot more work. But once a move is perfected, it gives much fuller art and beauty to the dance.

I suspect the same is true when we let the Maker of the stars lead. I think this is the place where we are taken beyond being created in His image to the place of moving with all the art of His creation. Can there be any greater joy, freedom and beauty than the life surrendered to the Creator's lead?

I think not.
